About Us
Ted Szczawinski is a graduate of both Rutgers University & Seton Hall University, he has worked in the field of arboriculture for over 40 years, he started teaching industry programs 30 years ago at Rutgers University's NJAES, Office of Continuing Professional Education. He currently serves as an Administrator for the Passaic County Technical Institute, he is a faculty adjunct at Rutgers NCAS Dept. of Biological Sciences and the Horticulture Dept. at Bergen Community College.
In 2001 the Arborist Association of New Jersey recognized Ted as "Arborist of the Year", Ted is proud to have served the association as President from 1996-1998.
In 2002 the International Society of Arboriculture, New Jersey Chapter, NJAISA, recognized Ted with the "Excellence in Arboriculture Education Award", for developing and providing high quality Arborist Career and Technical Education programs.
In 2012 the U.S. Department of Education recognized the Bergen County Technical School in Teterboro as a "National Blue Ribbon School", Ted is proud to have served that school as both a teacher and administrator.
In 2018 the Career & Technical Education Association of NJ, CTEANJ, named Ted "Administrator of the Year", for providing oversight and innovation in developing high quality CTE programs.
The Association of Career & Technical Education, ACTE Region 1 Division, has named Ted "Administrator of the Year for 2019", for providing oversight and innovation in developing high quality CTE programs.
